OPINION: COVID-19 Next steps? It’s on us

We awaken this Sunday to the global reality that 300,000 have been infected with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) of which almost one-third have recovered (94,000). Sadly, many have also perished (13,000). It’s on us to keep the number who become infected down and by doing so we keep the number who perish down.

Our Mission

COVID-19 - You got this

To break the COVID-19 spread we must do what many have accused me of doing for many years, sit on our ass.

That’s right. Sit.

Stay at home.

It would be nice if those infected had their foreheads emit a nice lime green glow, but that’s not happening.

Fleas jump from mutt to mutt when they are in proximity to each other. We separate the dogs, we give them flea baths and preventive ointment. We don’t have a COVID-19 bath, nor do we have an ointment. What we do have is the ability to use our common sense.

If we aren’t in proximity to others the virus stops with the individual infected.

Live by the assumption that all whom we encounter are infected.

Stay Home

Washington’s Governor, Jay Inslee says it clearly:

There you have it.

COVID-19 - Things I can control

Unless you are working in key sectors, venture out only for food and medical care/medicines.

We can do this.

By doing so, we are doing all we can to help our fellow man stay safe, healthy and alive.

It’s on us.

I thank you for your time,
Christopher Burgess
